FAQs

Will a sunroom add value to my home?
We would be hard pressed to put a value on comfort, beauty and having more light in our lives! However, practically speaking, a Four Seasons Sunroom may add 60-100% of its cost to the value of your home. They are engineered to comply with tough building codes and zoning board standards. The real value is a tangible and creative addition to your present living space to be enjoyed now.

Do all sunrooms have glass roofs?
It really depends on customer preference, privacy needs and how the room is to be incorporated with new or existing construction that determines the amount of glass and its configuration. For example, the conservatories, with their angled beauty and wrap-around glass, can offer the gardener an indoor plant heaven with as much light as possible. The backyard astronomer or avid bird watcher would probably prefer a similar 360 vista for maximizing their favorite avocation. For those who prefer a more private enclosure, a roofed sunroom with custom glass windows and panels gives a porch-like feel. There are curved and straight eave models. Imagine enjoying the outdoors without the black flies and mosquitoes in the summer and having a warm snug haven in the winter! There are so many different ways to enjoy the light and views from your Four Seasons Sunroom. Just request a catalog to be sent directly to you and see all the possibilities!

Can we put a sunroom on an existing deck?
With proper supports it can be done, however, a frost wall is preferred in this climate. The free on-site estimate will help determine the most efficient way to add on a Four Seasons sunroom and will certainly expand the use of any deck or porch that is limited now due to bugs, dampness or too hot or too cold. A Four Seasons Sunroom makes things "just right".

Do the windows open?
Yes! Several operative windows are available including casement, sliding and awning-type. Our customer's preferences, compatibility with any existing structure, ease of opening are some of the factors that help the customer decide. Up and down casement windows are sometimes preferred where the sunroom is being added on to an existing older structure to maintain the integrity of the main building. Windows that slide back and forth can be easier for some people to operate and the awning type that crank open from the bottom offer yet another way to direct the prevailing winds into your living space. Of course, screens are available with all operative windows.

Is Four Seasons sunroom glass different from my regular Low-E window glass?
MC Wonderglass™ is made with tempered safety glass which is four times stronger than regular window glass. With the advanced glazing technology and construction techniques, this remarkable glass reflects summer heat away and winter heat back into your addition. It also minimizes fading of rugs and upholstery by filtering UV light. MC Wonderglass is "covered against breakage and any manufacturer's defect for the lifetime of your Four Seasons Sunroom. This warranty covers not only the original purchaser, but anyone who owns your home in the future. The warranty provides for 100 percent glass material replacement for 20 years from the time of complete installation."

Do they need to be heated?
Yes, for year-round comfort in our climate, we highly recommend a separate heat zone. Specific heat requirements are determined according to sunroom size, amount of glass and customer preferences. We will guide the customer through a variety of options that meet their esthetic, economical and engineering needs.

How long do they take to install?
The number of glass panels, windows, door choices and of course, Mother Nature, can affect construction time. It is really dependent on the model and size, however, on a prepared foundation, the actual construction can take from three days to two weeks.
